ANNOUNCEMENTS:

ACTRESS NEEDS HELP

Hello Brevard Talent Group Actors,Seldom do I ask for help for any cause because I know how hard it is for
all of us to make a living during this slow time. However, everyday I count how fortunate I am by reminding myself that I am
"Thankful...Grateful...Blessed". I hope you do the same!

I am not sure if you know Heather Philipsen. She was an actress in Florida before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting and casting assistant
opportunities. Heather is back in Florida due to health reasons. She is suffering from complications from juvenile diabetes, has been declared
legally blind, is unable to work and does not have any health insurance. Her SAG insurance has run out and if she could qualify for health
insurance she could not afford it. She has been in Tampa General Hospital off and on for the last four months. Heather is 32 years old, a beautiful
person...a bright soul in the world and would kill me if she knew I was sending out this email.

I am asking for your donation to help Heather. Trust me...any amount will help $5.00...$10.00...$20.00 or more. Feel free to pass this on to your
actor friends. If you are interested in making a donation please mail it by December 10th to:

48 HOUR FILM PROJECT COMES TO TAMPA

The 48 Hour Film Project is looking to expand to new cities. That includes your hometown and cities halfway across the world.
But in order to start the 48HFP in a city, we need to find a Local Producer in that city. Our Local Producers are our people on the ground. They get the word out to teams, reserve the theaters, run the kickoff and dropoff, find judges, and manage the screenings. They have to be well-organized and good communicators. And they have to love the 48HFP as much as we do! Does this sound like someone you know? Do they live in one of the cities to the right or in any city that we do not currently visit? If so, have them send a resume and cover letter to newcities@48hourfilm.com. Thanks! Also, visit their web site: www.48hourfilm.com

LOCAL DOCUMENTARY ON RHONDA STORMS STIRS UP CONTROVERSY

The local documentary Un!Banned! based on Rhonda Storms stance towards gays in the community stirs up some controversy right before election time. The film was produced by Shelby V. McIntyre and directed by Amy Nestor. If you want to find out more please click here. Also click here to check out the film's site. Also, check out this article from FOX 13, listed below:

Controversial film 'Unbanned' is unveiled

TAMPA - While Ronda Storms says a documentary about Hillsborough County's policy to ban gay displays in public libraries violates the law and should not be made public, the producer of the film in question unveiled it Sunday afternoon. The film, "Unbanned," premiered at the Tampa Bay Business Guild Expo, part of the Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. And the producer of the film says making it public was perfectly legal, because it was independently produced. "Unfortunately, Ronda Storms is under the impression that Brandon Pride produced the film," said the documentary's producer, Shelby McIntyre. "Brandon Pride and Unbanned.org were only enlisted to assist during the project's production and help get the word out," McIntyre said. "I'm assuming that the people who put it on will correct that and will not proceed in violation of the law, now that it's been brought to them that they're proceeding outside the law," Storms said Friday. "Unbanned" chronicles how the many in the gay community feel about the ban on gay materials in Hillsborough County public libraries, as well as what they think of the county commissioner who pushed for it. Producers of the film now plan to show it in Hillsborough's public libraries, starting on October 15th at the John F. Germany library in downtown Tampa. Storms has said that gay books, pamphlets and any policy that would ask county librarians to refer teens to gay websites or chat rooms is inappropriate and unsafe.
The gay activists produced the DVD on the gay book ban controversy to shed light on the policy Storms spearheaded, and to possibly dampen her chances for election to the Florida Legislature. "If she gets to the Senate she could possibly use the same tactics, the same motions and cause us more problems than she caused us locally," said activist Zeke Fread.
